The Angolan upstream petroleum regulator, National Agency for Petroleum, Gas and Biofuels (ANPG), National Concessionaire has received nine proposals from three foreign companies, to act as operators of five acreages located onshore Kwanza Basin.
The blocks are: KON 1, KON3, KON 7 KON 10 and KON 14.
“The proposals were presented during a ceremony, within the scope of the launch of the Limited Public Tender for the award of the blocks auctioned but not awarded in the Public Tender “Tender 2023”, ANPG said.
Participating companies include ACE Energy and Power Consultants, Prime Africa Trade Pte Ltd and Walcot Group.
ANPG explained that the process is supported by the terms of Presidential Decree No. 86/18, of April 2. “After validation, the competing companies will be subjected to a Due Diligence process, to determine the winners”, the regulator noted.
“Our expectation is that with this process and eventually the awarding of the blocks, investors will move forward quickly with their oil activities and execute what will be agreed in the work plan. Because the main objective in this awarding process is to guarantee the sustainability of the country’s oil activity and production”, remarked Alcides Andrade, an Executive Director at ANPG.
The Competition Jury Board is chaired by ANPG and made up of members representing the Ministry of Mineral Resources, Oil and Gas, as well as the Ministry of Finance.
