Exalo Rig 202 heads to Musuma-1 ahead of November spud

Invictus Energy began relocating Exalo Rig 202 from the Mukuyu-2 wellsite to the Musuma-1 exploration well location at its Cabora Bassa Project in Zimbabwe, with the well still on track to spud in November.

The move followed completion of the Musuma-1 wellpad, including civil works and access road upgrades, earlier this month. Drilling contractor Exalo Drilling S.A. formally accepted the finished pad before the rig left Mukuyu-2.

After the rig arrives, Exalo will rig up and complete the remaining maintenance and operational readiness work, followed by final rig acceptance before drilling starts. Musuma-1 will test an exploration prospect on the eastern margin of the Cabora Bassa Basin, outside the area of the Mukuyu gas field discovery.
